A Federal Circuit panel cemented Activision Blizzard Inc.’s win in a patent infringement lawsuit that alleged its video video games violated a pair of patents meant to make sport scenes look extra sensible.
The Tuesday opinion permits the corporate behind Name of Responsibility to dodge Infernal Know-how LLC’s claims that 19 of its video games infringed US Patent Nos. 6,362,822 and seven,061,488, which allow real-time lighting and shadows in animations.
The Federal Circuit agreed with a district courtroom that, underneath a mutually agreed-upon definition that underpins the patents, Activision’s merchandise don’t infringe Infernal’s expertise.
